 Born in 1978 , Ricardo began his martial arts training, with the encouragement of his parents, in the art of Judo at age 7. After 8 years of judo he began to realize to the efficiency and supremacy of jiu-jitsu over all other forms of martial arts.
In 1994 he started his training in jiu-jitsu. After a few months of training he introduced his brother Eduardo to Jiu-Jitsu , since then they have never stopped training.
In December of 2000, after years of training and winning titles at every belt level, Ricardo received his black belt from Professor Roberto Godoi and from the President of the Federation Paulista of Jiu-Jitsu, Master Otavio de Almeida.
In 2006 he came to the USA and met Rigan Machado. Over the next six months they became daily training partners and great friends..
In March of 2008 he returned to USA and became the Head Instructor of Rigan Machado Academy in Redondo Beach.
